And like we mentioned, methamphetamine use was pretty popular in this town. But Danny Freeman also had a reputation of having a volatile temper. In 1985, he was arrested and charged with assault after he attacked his father-in-law, Bill Chandler.

He played football and basketball at Welch High School and was popular, but he wasn't an ideal student. In fact, in high school, he had some behavioral issues and was constantly getting suspended.
