And anytime it's your first team, it's a lot like family.
And we were really good.
We just weren't always quite as good as maybe the Phillies or the Pirates or the Cardinals.
But it was good baseball.
And it was fun baseball.
It wasn't the greatest ballpark in the world.
It was kind of cold and the roof didn't work.
But no, they came and they loved the Expos.
That's why I felt bad.
I think with 94, the strike, I think really...
really gotten because they had a good team yes they did they had a great manager and they had great young players and i think that kind of soured the fan base there i still hope i still hope and i think with right ownership and and a ballpark downtown that they can get a roof on it i still think it can be a wonderful place for baseball i completely agree with you and the key is getting a stadium downtown they've got you got to do that in montreal
That's okay.
I really don't.
And the reason I say that is not because I don't watch or, you know, but when I'm in the dugout, it's so different than when you're watching a game because you get so involved in the game and you get like tunnel vision and you're thinking about every single thing two, three innings ahead of time.
When I'm watching the game, I might be having a beer and, you know, enjoying it.
And, you know, it's easy to be a fan and,
But as a manager, you get so locked into what you want to do, what you know you can't do.
Like maybe you have to stay away from a pitcher or things like that.
You know, when we lost to L.A., and this has happened every year, I want every team to lose.
I haven't figured out a way to make that work.
