Number one, who's going to be leading the organization?
And then you can figure out who the coach will be.
You don't do the coach before you figure out who's leading the organization.
Number two, how deep you want to go, being honest with everybody, and then proceeding forward in terms of trying to, if it's not going to be Brad Treleving, finding somebody that's going to come in and be that guy.
Those are the questions.
And then everything will go from there.
this team had a lot of promise.
I talked about 2014 when Brendan Shanahan came in and Mike Babcock and they built it and they had a lot of promise and there's no question that they were one of the top contenders.
They were not able to achieve when it mattered the most in the Stanley Cup playoffs.
I go back to my, not my experience, but my father was with Washington Capitals for a lot of years.
And in the 80s and the early 90s, they were one of the best 5-6 teams in the National Hockey League.
They never could get to where they wanted to get to.
They had Hall of Fame players.
They had lots of good players, right?
And they won and they made the playoffs every year and they showed promise every year.
And they never did it.
And then, you know, at the end of it, David Poyle, they made a change in 1997, George McPhee.
And what ended up happening, they caught lightning in a bottle.
They ended up going to the Stanley Cup final in 98 before losing to Detroit.
