And then he said, I see other teams getting better.
He did.
By signing guys that were not Yankees.
He was saying, I saw the Dodgers bring in guys that did not play for the Dodgers last year.
I saw the Phillies trying to make a play that did not play for the Phillies last year.
I see the Mets bringing in a guy that did not play for the Mets last year.
That's what I took out of it.
That I'm sitting back going, I want to bring back the guys we brought back.
I'm happy we brought them back.
But I'm sitting there frustrated going, when are we going to act like the freaking Yankees?
That's what he said.
They ended up getting all the players he wanted.
He's going to be a team guy at the end of the day.
He's not going to totally embarrass the Yankees or Steinbrenner or Brian Cashman.
So he's going to tell you that he was frustrated, tell you that it was brutal, his words, not mine.
