Like benching him sets an example for the whole team.
Like if I won't tolerate it from him, you can bet your ass I won't tolerate it from you.
That's an argument, and I understand it.
There's also the argument of the reason for benching is to get through to that player.
I don't think Lindor needs to be benched for him to understand what happened on the field in the first inning and how it can't happen again.
You don't think getting picked off, which does happen, happened to Jazz last night also, shows that him, my batting it after the first inning, that that might refocus him?
Because he obviously was not focused in the first.
That that's an example that, you know, obviously after being embarrassed by not knowing how many outs were in the first inning, he wasn't more focused later in the game?
When he got picked off?
It's not about focus.
Again, Mendoza said they had a play on.
He was going to steal the base.
He was aggressive, and they made a good play at the right moment.
That wasn't that at all.
That was the guy lollygagging off first.
He wasn't paying any attention.
