I never behaved in a fashion that was anything other than what I was experiencing around me.

But what I hoped to always do was to, with my energy, and there was plenty to spare, was keep everyone energized.

So when they were feeling a bit flatter under the weather, you know, cracking gags with them and making them laugh and they go, okay, okay, okay, we'd go and we'd have a great show.

But you're right, it was all about that electric sort of energy.

That's a really great question.

No one held up a sign in 2000 because we did the show again.

I did the show again in 2015 due to public demand, really.

The show was so successful in 2014, they rolled it out again in 2015.

So in between Dr Blake production seasons, I went and did it again.

It was probably going to be my last lap in Lippy anyway because, you know, the dairy is only going to look so good for so long.

But no one said, hey, listen, everything's got to change.

You can't crack those jokes anymore.

So for those of us who'd been in the business for decades, it was always just business as usual.

Everyone's in fear of cracking a joke or smiling or saying to someone, oh, is that your new costume?

Certainly for a theatre show, if it's a show like Rocky, there are a number of shows where it's physical.

Choreographed dance numbers are physical.

You're holding each other over your head, draped over your body.
