So we spent like four hours talking to everybody we knew.

And finally they hooked me up with this person, Christy Fortner.

And so I said, hey, I need a manager and I need it tomorrow.

And she said, yeah, I'm on board.

And she came on board as my manager for quite some time that first year or so.

And all I did that first year, that was in like October.

In January, my first single came out called Paradise that you alluded to, which is odd because when I wrote that song, like...

I didn't want people... I didn't want my buddies in the military to think I was trying to take advantage of my military career to have success in the music business.

So I didn't want to write about my military, but I just wrote the song, and they loved it, and they thought it would be a good single.

So we did it anyway.

And...

Yeah, so I did that for a year, but I didn't do any shows.

Like real shows.

Mm-hmm.

For 12 months, all I did was radio shows.

Back then... Mm-hmm.

Right.

We didn't have TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook.

We didn't have none of that stuff.

That's exactly right.
