Abby, I agree. I mean, I feel the feelings of wanting to be somewhere in the middle. It is a delicate balance because it's like you want your kid. I want my daughters to feel independent. Mm-hmm. I really want them to have the confidence to know that they can figure this stuff out. That life isn't rocket science. That it's a lot of common sense.

It is the hardest thing to do to watch your kids walk into a wall that you knew was there. And you told them not to walk into it. I think it's a constant exercise of extending the leash. You know, always err on the side of making it longer, not letting it go. But it's for them to say, like the bump on the head, you got this.
