It reminds me of a story that used to go around when I was on the president's detail, when Dick Cheney was the vice president.
I don't know if this is true or not, but when they were on the campaign trail, one of the VP guys, the vice president's protective detail guys told me when Cheney used to tell the story a lot that when he was a congressman,
He used to go knock on doors and, you know, relatively rural area.
And once in a while, he'd knock on a door and people didn't know he was the sitting congressman.
He'd say, hey, I'm Dick Cheney.
I'm running for Congress.
