There was an interesting piece in the Wall Street Journal about this.

I used to bring this up years ago because this happened in the Reagan era when the economy exploded.

People used to say the middle class is shrinking under Reagan.

And they were right.

They were right, Dan.

I thought you just said capitalism works.

The middle class was shrinking during the Reagan era because the middle class were moving into the upper middle class and getting richer.

They left that part out.

Oh, looky here, Jason Reilly piece in the Wall Street Journal.

It's happening again.

I thought capitalism sucks.

Reilly notes in 1979, the upper middle class was 10% of all families.

By 2024, it was 31%.

So, yeah.

The American middle class is shrinking because they're getting richer.

Those are just data, folks.

To the young men and women who listen to my show, RW, this is why I put this stuff out there, who listen to Mamdami, capitalism has failed.

Everybody's going broke.

Country sucks.
