Pretty similar, mostly day games.
The night games were a little bit tough because it did get pretty dark in the backyards.
But it was, I would say, probably about three and a half backyards lined together, starting with McCarthy's and then our backyard, the neighbor next door.
So it was a real narrow field.
So if you hit a foul ball, it was going to go down to the houses down from us adjacent, but those were all trees.
We called it the jungle.
So if you hit the wiffle ball into the jungle...
you were going to spend some time looking for it.
So you had to try to hit it straight, and you had to hit it far, high in the air, to try to hit a home run after probably about four yards.
The times when Mike was able to join our teams and help the younger kids out from taking a whooping, Mike was always able to hit them.
I think one time he hit them off of a house about four yards down.
Yeah, well, yeah, we used the traditional thin yellow wiffle bat.
Occasionally we tried another wider bat that didn't work as well.
So, yeah, the typical traditional wiffle bat, the traditional wiffle ball with the holes in it, and you try to perfect those throws.
