The National Transportation Safety Board says the pilots of that United Airlines flight, which struck a light pole on the New Jersey Turnpike as it was landing on May 3rd, the NTSB says they were flying too low and slow during their final approach.
Debris from the light pole struck a tractor-trailer truck.
Dash cam video from the truck has gone viral.
The NTSB's preliminary report says the captain was flying the plane and there were gusty winds at the time, and the two pilots discussed the difficulty they were having with the winds.
