A bomb cyclone has dumped about a foot of snow in some parts of North Carolina, making the snowfall one of the biggest in years.

Houston Democrat Christian Menefee easily won a special election Saturday to win a seat in Congress.

Beginning today, air travelers who do not have what's called a real ID or another acceptable form of identification, this such is a valid U.S.

passport or subject to a new non-refundable $45 charge.

The TSA says this is not a fine or a penalty.

but a payment for a non-compliant traveler to use the agency's new alternative ID verification program called Confirm ID.

The process can take up to 30 minutes.
