The White House is saying that reports from Iranian state media claiming to have a copy of an unofficial draft memorandum of understanding of a deal between the U.S.

and Iran to end the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz is, quote, not true.

Iranian broadcasting had claimed the deal would include the U.S.

ending its naval blockade of Iran while withdrawing naval forces from the waters surrounding Iran.

Iran would then allow commercial vessels transiting the Strait to return to pre-war levels within a month of an agreement coming into effect.

Iran and Oman would then administer a mechanism managing passage through the Strait.

In a post on X, the White House called the reported MOU a, quote, complete fabrication.
