The new iteration of the show, I don't feel like should be celebrity dependent.

I would go back to what the roots of the show were.

and go to cast members and a guest host, but not be celebrity dependent.

Because celebrity and pop culture is part of what they should be kind of skewering.

Like you could argue they should be having so much fun with Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey, right?

Like that should be, think about if those people existed in the late seventies or in the late eighties.

Sure.

that would have been fodder for the show every week.

But now I feel like they'd be a little afraid because, oh no, she won't want to come back on if we make fun of her.

And like the other piece of it is why is the show live?

at this point, if there's no danger that comes with being live.

Because the whole reason they had the show in the first place was this is live.

Anything can happen.

Any line might get crossed.

Somebody might swear accidentally.

All these crazy things could happen.

Now it's like a safe live, which at this point, I don't know why you just wouldn't tape the show at 8 o'clock and air it at 11.30.

It's not like, oh, my God, what's going to happen?

Do you feel like anyone feels that way anymore?

Well, it's going to be interesting when Shane hosts at the end of this month.
