There was a week where I had like 2% German and then I was stripped of it.
So I think while they're finessing it,
But yeah, my Irish surname comes from the Indian side.
Isn't that crazy, Buckley?
My mum used to say I'm an Irish woman with an English name, Smith, married an Indian and ended up with an Irish name.
So maybe there was a cork man in India spreading a lot more than the good words.
in some ways she's a real traditional Irish mammy like in the stereotypes and in other ways no like she's she's not we're not particularly religious we love a candle we love a drama she's not uh she's she all the people you know because you get told of religion drinking all that she's not really none of us are big drinkers but she loves crack she loves carry on so many my aunties would be on the dance floor and they're on the hot water they're drinking hot water from a cup but people be like oh I assume you're on five shots they're like no this is my default
but also just very strong, strong-willed.
I mean, she had to be, right?
She moved to London in the 70s and married an Indian man.
She came over when the sign still said, no dogs, no blacks, no Irish, which I think now we know that that was done by white English Protestant cats.
I think that's who did those signs.
That's the agenda.
But thank God she was also like a woman into reggae and take me out of school to go to folk festivals and go backpacking and traveling and all of those fun, great things, you know?
And in my family, my aunties, my moms are really, really, really funny, like much funnier than me, but only by the kitchen table.
You couldn't ask them to do that on stage because that would be embarrassing.
And I think that's quite an Irish thing, you know?
But also like my mum will just say things she doesn't.
And I love this.
She doesn't know how beautiful or funny they are.
