Israel's National Security Council is warning of copycat attacks and is calling on Israelis globally not to attend Jewish gatherings without security guards present.

Israel's Mossad intelligence agency is helping investigate the Australia attack.

That's according to a person briefed on the matter who spoke to NPR on condition of anonymity.

One last Israeli hostage body needs to be handed over from Hamas to Israel, and then the ceasefire's second phase can begin, says Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

That phase would include Hamas laying down its weapons and Israeli troops withdrawing.

But Majid El-Ansari, advisor to the prime minister of Qatar, told reporters talks haven't started yet.

He said the Trump administration is applying pressure on Israel to move forward on the ceasefire.

Israel's prime minister's office called it an initial attempt to create a basis for a relationship and economic cooperation between the neighboring countries which have no diplomatic ties.
