Do you think something similar in cause and effect is going on now?
I'm not sure that I see Trump sort of connecting those dots, but there is clearly a political crisis that has been caused in part by Trump's tariffs.
So he's kind of a self-inflicted economic crisis or at least an amplification of the
you know, inflation problem that we were dealing with before.
And this seems like a way to politically square the circle.
I'm not sure that will economically square the circle.
I'm not sure it will resolve the issue.
But Trump has sort of painted himself into a corner politically.
And I think he regards this as a way out.
This is the first good news day he's had at least vis-a-vis parts of his base in a long time.
You think that was a good news day for him?
I mean, he's clearly taken great pleasure in it, and it's a show of strength, which has been an important part of who he is.
You're right that not everyone is on board with this, but I think for a certain kind of Trump supporter, this looks good.
This is the kind of thing that the United States hasn't done in a while.
Well, this is exactly my next question.
The invasion of Venezuela was 36 years after the invasion of Panama.
How would you compare these two operations?

So a huge difference is that with the Panama invasion, that was clearly sort of a rogue yes man.
