Following her death, President of the College of Hawaii, Arthur L. Dean, continued Alice's research, and in 1919, a college chemistry lab was producing large quantities of the extract. In 1920, Dean co-authored a paper detailing Alice's findings, adding a minor tweak and renaming the technique the Dean Method, with no mention of Alice at all. Wow. God.
