In order to capture the animals to fit with radio collars which collect important scientific data, they utilized steel leg-hold traps, a cruel and barbaric method which not only caused harm to the animals, but was illegal in Poland.

I really enjoy this part of Simona's story, particularly because I have some experience with steel leghold traps in my work. with wolf conservation at the conservation center that I worked at in Colorado called the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center.
