there's days where your best effort will be maintaining what you did last time and there's also nothing wrong with that at all.
There'll be days where maybe you don't even reach what you did last time and that's also fine.
But if there is that fear of failing or like let's say adding weight to the bar or going a little heavier and that's the big fear because you don't have someone to spot you or you're on your own,
use the weight that you're comfortable with and do more reps.
You know, like that's also a form of progression.
And then when you have the opportunity to do so and go a little heavier and someone's there to help you out, then make the most of it.
Yeah, it will make a significantly positive impact to your running.
I think the best way to think about it is as we get stronger in the gym, so as you strengthen a muscle, it essentially allows you to, I know this is a bit sciencey, but it allows you to apply more force into the ground.
So you're able to cover more ground with the same effort, essentially.
But not only that, massively benefits injury prevention too.
You know, I think you see quite often, we mentioned before, like training for a marathon.
You see it very often.
People kind of get towards the back end of a prep for a marathon.
And if they're not doing strength training, the body starts to break down, whether it's calves, you know, hamstrings being a really common one, hip flexors.
Like there's all types of stuff that will come up.
There's that and it's also the other misconception of like getting big and bulky and slow.
You know, I've got a good little analogy about that, that I'll quickly share.
