If this team ultimately falls short, because if last year, getting to the conference finals in six, and you lose, you fire your coach, how are you going to be able to make the argument if this team wins a round or two and then ultimately falls short of a championship, how are you going to make the argument that next year would be any different?
I would think Carl Anthony Towns, with his $50-plus million average salary, would be the one to go.
I know they would love to get rid of Bridges.
He's probably the guy that gets the most heat here in New York because they gave up five first-round picks for him.
Bridges' four-year, $150 million contract

So they would try to trade Bridges, probably be unsuccessful.
Hart, you could move in an instant.
He'd be valuable to any team that would contend.
And then Towns, I think he has played really well this year.
But assuming the Knicks don't make it out of the East...
All offseason, when we're talking NBA, the number one story will be, how are the Knicks going to shake it up?
Is LeBron going to do the farewell tour here in New York?
Are they going to figure out a way, maybe take a three-team trade to go out and get Giannis?
