It was in my party's manifesto.
It's in the programme for government.
The airport is a major economic driver.
Dublin Airport is a strategic asset for this country.
And we cannot have a situation whereby the growth of that airport is a false campus put upon it.
There are emissions consequences with it too.
There are economic consequences to it as well.
And there are connectivity consequences.
The airport should grow in a sustainable way.
And that's what I want.
I live beside the airport.
I've lived there my whole life.
I know tens of thousands of people who derive their income from the airport.
Our connectivity within Europe and within the world is critical as an island nation.
So the cap does not serve us well.
And I'll bring forward a very focused piece of legislation that's been well thought out.
It'll come to Cabinet in the coming weeks.
And I'll be bringing that legislation straight to the houses then.
