that there had been a badger family that was living close to their home in Dawkey and that they had lived alongside this family of badgers for more than three decades.

And he said, we're not going to be complicit in these badgers being removed from their homes and ultimately killed.

So it was a really interesting element to that planning dispute.

terms of the result of it then so as i said earlier the uh the 2019 proposal for the apartments in the houses they did lose that objection and that planning permission for that was granted but um the planning permission ultimately expired actually so they even though the permission was granted it never actually

And it never actually went in.

And then in terms of the nursing home, that was eventually rejected.

So permission was initially granted by the old on board Planola.

And after a high court challenge that was brought, then the new Commission Planola, which is effectively the same body adjudicating on all of the same things, they said, no, that planning has been refused for that.

It actually wasn't on the grounds of the Badgers now.

So they were happy enough after a conservationist came in and said their piece that there would be

an artificial badger set set up for the badger family so the badgers were going to be all right one way or the other and it wasn't actually to do with the property being overbearing or overlooking on the kenny's or any of the other residents who objected it was actually on the grounds of kind of a technical thing to do with things like the width of footpaths and and vehicular access and things like that so as far as everybody was concerned the residents were going to be all right the badgers were going to be all right either way but in the end the nursing home still didn't go ahead

So there were two separate objections that have been lodged by Mary Lou MacDonald, again on the same site.

Yeah, so it's the former site of Matt's pub in Cabra in Dublin 7, which is...

It has been closed down permanently for a number of years now and the site has been left alone since.

So initially there was a proposal for 117 built-to-rent units that would have been apartments there at where Matt's used to be in Cabra.

And then there was a second proposal after that one was eventually rejected.

There was no planning granted for that.

So it was a 249 student bed space scheme.
