Because if he would have had to play the Houston Rockets, his legacy would have been dented by the fact that he would have lost one of the NBA finals.
Akeem...
That is the antidote to those Bulls teams of the 90s was a guy who could score in the middle against them.
The three-headed monster that they were throwing at people would not have been able to do anything to slow down Akeem Olajuwon.
And by the way, the perimeter defenders would have at least given Michael Jordan some trouble.
And I think the Houston Rockets would have vanquished Jordan and the Bulls.
Well, that is exactly the mystique that boosts up Joe Montana.
He had a 4-0, never threw an interception in a Super Bowl.
Yeah, but he got hammered by the Giants and otherwise in the playoffs.
Those don't count as strikes against him.
He didn't even get to the Super Bowl.
Shouldn't that be worse?
Well, to me, with all respect to magic, I go LeBron as my 1A, and my number one is Lew Alcindor, a.k.a.
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, on the strength of before he even goes to the Lakers.
He's winning MVPs, or he's the guy for the Bucs, and then he comes to LA, and before Magic arrives, he's winning MVPs with the Lakers and everything else.
He wins a title with the Bucs.
Magic, there's no evidence...
that Magic can do it without Lew Alcindor slash Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, save the first Jordan title, where if there hadn't been injuries, maybe Magic's Lakers get over on Jordan and then further dent Jordan's legacy, which is already damaged by having lost to the Rockets in the mid-90s.
I think I go Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the greatest first overall pick in basketball history.
That, by the way, wow.
