He works hard.
I don't think he leaves any stone unturned.
He's on top of everything in that regard.
He works well with the coaching staff and we're fundamentally prepared.
He's not afraid to tackle topics with his players.
So I think all of those are factors and many, many more that lead him to be a good manager.
I think one thing that always comes into play, which is a manager, general manager too, same thing.
We make many, many decisions, right?
Manager makes more on a daily basis, right?
He's given hint and runs, deal, bunt, whatever it may be.
A, they're not all going to work.
And B, I don't know anybody that would ever agree with any decision all the time that somebody made.
I've been around, and I've said this before, so I won't go into it.
I was around Jim Leland and Tony LaRusso all the time.
They're in the Hall of Fame.
They're two of the best managers in the history of the game.
I'm sitting upstairs.
I never agreed with everything that they did all the time, nor did their bench coach, nor did anybody else.
But if you ever asked them why they did it, they had a reason behind it.
They don't say, oh, I flipped a coin and I decided to do that, right?
