There's writers that have a word count they're shooting for just to keep themselves generally on pace.
You might say 500 words or 1,000 words, which is really not that much.
Sometimes you give a deadline to a friend to give back to you.
You say, or I'll say to my wife,
I'm giving you this chapter at the end of the day.
Force me to do it, hold me to it, yell at me if I don't get it.
So you're often employing friends and family to keep you on target.
And that goes back to the community part of it.
You know, so much of writing is actually talking.
You know, you're not always alone.
And if you're stuck, you call up a friend or you go for a walk with somebody.
You say, I'm working this out.
Or am I onto something here?
Or if you're writing a novel, you give chapters as you go to.
