And you have to be able to go on these wild flights and then recognize that you need to leave that alone.

Fix the grammar, but let it be.

Because what really connects with people, I think, more than anything, are those flights of just untamed stream of consciousness or passion and the stuff that's most risky and most embarrassing.

And the stuff that you or maybe a timid editor would say, you really shouldn't put that on paper.

Like, that's the stuff you have to leave, you know?

Do you only work on one thing at a time?
