I don't think he's been suspended in quite a while.

So I think a five-game suspension is quite heavy.

Could it be more?

Sure, it could always be more.

But then you're going to see all suspensions be more, and I'm not sure there's an appetite to have players suspended left, right, and center.

I mean, I get beaten up on a daily basis on Twitter, people going back and forth with me.

The biggest criticism I hear from people is that referees should just call the act and not the result.

So a guy will get hit from behind, for example.

Referees get two minutes for boarding, and everybody's up their arms saying, well, because the player wasn't hurt, they only called two minutes.

It shouldn't matter if the player's hurt.

They should just call the result.

I mean, they should just call the action.

The result shouldn't matter.

So now you get player safety that suspends based on the act

and not the result, and now everybody's up in arms again because they want them suspending based on the result and not the act.

So, I mean, you can't have it both ways.

And I think player safety does a great job of suspending based on the act.

The result, you know, guys could... What if Auston Matthews had gone up and skated away?
