A gasoline engine has a fuel pump in the tank, usually.

Diesels, they have a lift pump to push diesel to the injection pump, which pressurizes the diesel because that's what atomizes the diesel when it comes out of the injectors, making it fire.
So there's a lot more parts.
There's a lot of wearable parts on a diesel.
You can get some pretty outstanding odometer readings on gasoline engines before major stuff happens.
My Yukon has 300,000 miles, and I have put a wheel bearing on it.
But my brother-in-law has a 0-1 Duramax with 600,000 miles that he has never touched a motor on.
Besides injectors, because that's 0-1 Duramax things.
Yeah, wheel bearing and then just maintenance stuff like tires and shocks.
Same motor, transmission, pistons, valve train.
I've never even done head gaskets on it.
