Your business should be a separate account.

Right.

You should not have your materials for your business in your EveryDollar budget.

Your business needs to be running on its own budget.

Separate checking account.

All of the revenue from your business goes into that account.

Only expenses for the business materials come out of that.

And then whatever's left in that account, by definition, is profit.

This is cash basis accounting.

I appreciate and I'm honored by your enthusiasm for what we teach because it's going to change your life.

I'm happy for you guys on that.

But you need to stop.

You've done a classic husband move, and it's a bonehead move.

And that is you got all enthused, and you start talking about what instead of why.
