I wasn't paying enough attention.
Do we get back to the mood of 2017 where every Democrat was confidently saying we need more refugees in the country?
I don't think we get there.
But the idea that
The idea that some immigrants should be allowed in the country and improve it when they're here is pretty popular outside of Stephen Miller's office in the White House.
This has gone very far in a nativist direction that I think Mamdani is comfortable rebutting because, yes, there are Republicans who say, I would like to remove people like him from the country.
And there are there are people who say he doesn't seem to be harming anybody.
