That gets filtered through that system.
And so one of the jobs of that part of the brain is to find evidence of that everywhere you look, into every situation you go in.
So these repeated thoughts and beliefs have a massive effect in terms of your perspective, your actions, and your outcomes.
And so when we think about psychological stress pertaining to your thoughts, thinking, and emotions, it's so important to have a good relationship with this thing so you can filter it.
Oh, there's thoughts coming in.
Because you don't want to react to all the thoughts and emotions, right?
You want to be able to access your wisdom and be like, okay, hold on.
What's actually going on here?
But I find that.
When I learned that stuff about how the brain works and how it filters this information, it was such a game changer for me because I could see so many areas of my life where I had these ingrained thoughts and beliefs that were really dictating my actions and outcomes.
Even like around money.
Even like I had quite a fixed mindset around money.
My thoughts and beliefs around money was that it was really hard to come by.
It was scarce.
Because I traveled for 11 years on a shoestring and I watched my old man growing up and he had to work ridiculously hard to earn, you know, to get what he got.
He's a builder.
And so for me, my mindset was like, well, money is difficult to come by.
I'm not good at making it because I never did jobs.
You know, I was always like traveling.
I was working on the beach or like doing dishes or pouring beers at a pub.
