It's legal loan sharking, but it's just β it's impossible to get out of.
It's financial quicksand.
So she's got to sit down, know what she owes, have total clarity around how big the problem is, and then truthfully she's probably going to need to go get some help and go speak with a nonprofit credit card counseling consumer group to see if there's anything she can do β
to get help with this.
And she's going to have to cut all of her expenses to the absolute bone so that she can take every dollar she's got to pay down that debt as fast as possible.
She may need to get another job.
Like, in the next year, she might have to work two jobs and not do anything besides eat bananas and rice.
I mean, people are like, well, that's... You know, I'm like, literally, like...
Whatever got her into that mess, she's got to stop doing it.
And then she's going to have to make massive action because if she doesn't take massive action, it's just going to keep growing and growing and growing.
And I will tell you something, and this is different for women than men.
But the number one cause of suicide for men is financial stress.
And the highest level suicide rate is white men between the age of 45 and 62.
And inevitably, it's often financial pressure that's built up and built up and built up and built up.
And so the little mistakes that we make when we're young, if we don't fix them, they compound and they compound and they compound.
And I hope they never lead to anybody thinking about taking their life because that's a temporary problem that could be fixed.
And what I see is the other thing that this kind of debt can do is it can lead to addiction issues.
It leads to alcohol addiction.
It leads to drug addiction.
It leads to divorce.
