Yeah.
It's like your past safety is gone.
And that's kind of a freaky prospect.
And all the secure communication we've done as a society to date has been using encryption methods that quantum can usually break.
And so like government secrets that got transmitted securely, as long as someone recorded them, save them on disk or whatever, even though they can't read them in some near future, if quantum becomes feasible and it looks like it's going to be.
those communications could become broken.
So I wonder what secrets we'll learn about from the 90s, the early 2000s, the early 2010s, because somebody recorded an encrypted conversation, an encrypted transmission, and yes, they couldn't decrypt it, they couldn't read it at the time, but they'll be able to read it when quantum computers become feasible.
Yeah, it's just kind of a weird, it's a weird thing that might happen and something to be aware of.
Speaking of security, there is no more security-aware government than the U.S.
government.
And if we go to the president, the White House's new app, it's meant to be like a public outreach app or something.
Like if you want to see the presidential live streams or see what the White House is saying or read their press releases, sort of like interacting with the White House.
Yeah.
They've launched an app to do that.
Great.
That app tracks your location every few minutes, which is a wild thing.
Like, oh, I'm installing a government PR app, kind of, and now it's tracking my location.
It's almost comical.
Is it possible they just use some random contractor and some random like library with some random like they just built the app as quickly as possible and whatever library they're using logged the location and it's not actually meant to be malicious?
and there's a blog post by some nerd saying i decompiled the white house's new app and here's what i found and it's a bit technical but it's like it's almost comical like it's just a badly written piece of software so it wouldn't surprise me i mean if the u.s government wanted to track your location they wouldn't need to do it through a white house app come on they got the nsa and stuff so i think it was just badly built and it's comical the security flaws in it i'm not
