They're just appreciating the music, and that was kind of amazing. I think Nu Metal, to a degree, is having a similar kind of revisiting by kids liking Korn, not ironically, but genuinely loving it. It's a trip.

from 20 years ago and i guess it's like everything like everything comes around again right it's like your fashion you're wearing what your parents once wore and you think it's like a cool thing it's like no they've been there and done that and i wonder how much of this is just us getting old and that's what every generation because it's not like does that as well led zeppelin was unique to just the generation no completely when they came out it's definitely us getting older as well

um you when i was researching this you're like you should just talk to him because he knows emo inside and out and i feel like he has good insight into what we're seeing with all this stuff being back again

I'm wondering if you have any thoughts and opinions on kind of the origin of this genre and what it means to be emo here in 2025.

It must be kind of surreal for you and the band to look out into that crowd because you typically... I imagine you're getting fans that are... You've got fans that were there from the beginning that are probably our age, and then you've probably got kids there as well, right?

So I grew up in an extremely Christian house, so I didn't have music until I was 16, really. I was a bit of Britpop. There was a bit of Oasis and Blur that was big in New Zealand, but generally no music.

And then a friend handed me a CD wallet, and it had... like tool, um, nine inch nails slayer, more metal industrial kind of orientated stuff. And so I went heavy into sort of industrial, probably metal was my thing for a long time.

Well, yeah, you're figuring out who you are and music can help you do that. You know, this external thing, which I think is great. Yeah.

I think it's too much for anyone to handle. The volume of intensity coming at you and engaging in those conversations is so much.
