But the rest of the family which stayed back there was very, very respectable.

he was was invited home he would have been about 22 then i suppose my mother would have been about 16 and they started going out together almost immediately and my my grandfather's son owned a section at the markets fruit and vegetables section at the markets and my father was then employed as one of their carriers because he owned a small trucking business

How long did their courtship last before they got married?

They didn't get married until she was 32.

15, 16 years, yeah.

And, I mean, the difficulty of all... They went out...

continually from that time.

And I've got letters and, you know, they were not very often separated, but when they were, he wrote her letters.

They must have been burning for each other.
