Meidän joukkueemme Mount Sinaiissa on työskentelemässä ensimmäisenä yksilöiden lääkärin koulutuksen edistämisessä. Me näemme koulutuksen alapuolella ja koulutukset aloittavat koulutusohjelmansa. Meidän töihin on varmistaa, että koulutusohjelman ja koulutusohjelman yksilöiden yksilöiden yksilöiden yksilöiden yksilöiden yksilöiden yksilöiden
We concur that all of the safety protocols are being followed. Just to clarify, there is a difference between taking banned substances and taking anything, right? Yeah, that's correct. Scheduled narcotics and street drugs that would be illegal in a person's country of origin are not permitted in this competition, but performance-enhancing substances and performance-enhancing strategies are permitted in the enhanced games.
Will there be drug testing? It's interesting that the protocols are actually quite strict. I would go as far as to say the substance testing protocols are probably more extensive than what we see in regular sports performance because we are trying to be really careful that people are sticking within safe levels of substance use.
And from a scientific research point of view, does that mean that there's some really interesting stuff that you can learn? Absolutely. As we start to see some of these athletes performing at really, really high levels, we're starting to see blood biomarker levels that we're not used to seeing. So there's this whole sort of
yksityiskohtaisesta fysiologista, jota maailmanlaajuiset eivät koskaan oppineet. Mielestäni, kun oppitaan enemmän fysiologista, miten voidaan ottaa se edelleen toimintaa ja lääkärille? Se on mielenkiintoista. Miten se voidaan tuoda lääkärille?
We're starting to learn a lot about safe and appropriate use of hormones and peptides. A concrete example of that is I work with this really wonderful neurologist at Veterans Affairs in the US. Together we work with a lot of former soldiers who sustained severe spinal cord injuries. One of the things I would say for the last 10 years that he and I have been talking about is, I wonder what would happen if this person who has a little bit of residual function in his legs
Some of the ones on my mind like BPC-157 and TB500, which are some of the more common peptides for sort of tissue recovery. We know next to nothing about these peptides. What's an interesting thing about peptides is they're not exactly intelligent. So BPC-157 and TB500 will work through your body and they will encourage tissue growth.
mutta ei aina halua vahvistaa ruokakäytäntöä. Esimerkiksi tumorin tapauksessa. Tumori on yksinkertaistunut, kääntynyt ruokakäytäntö.
where we monitor all of these things in folks who are taking these peptides over a period of time.
Will people at the Enhanced Games be taking these peptides? Is this going to be a source of data for you? Actually, no, not at this Enhanced Games. Peptides are actually not permitted, so that may shock you, because you're not allowed to take illegal or even sort of just like legally grey medications. And so because the legality of peptides isn't really set in stone right now in the United States, they're not permitted substances at Enhanced.
Voisin sanoa, että yksi suurimmilta rajoiluilta ihmisille, jotka kehittyvät terveellään, on ihmiset, jotka aloittavat menemään liian syvälle metriille. Vastauksia, joita tyypillisesti annan ihmisille, on A. ettei sinä ole professionaalinen atleetti.
Your job is not to win this marathon. Your job is your job and this is your pastime. And so just make it enjoyable, otherwise it's not going to be sustainable. B, even if you are a professional athlete, one of my favorite sayings from an NBA coach is, anything worth doing is worth doing half-assed. Meaning, if all you do in one day is get out there and do something suboptimally, but you still did it versus not doing it, you're still ahead.
I'm always a fan of the opportunity to learn. I think we all understand that these are substances that are being used whether we like it or not. This is my personal opinion, but my hope is that if we do provide the venue and we do provide the platform for people to safely, intelligently use these substances, it's going to make the other settings a little bit less likely to engage people.
illicitly in these behaviors. And it's also, paradoxically, it's going to help us to identify when people in the other settings are behaving in a way that is breaking the rules. Because once we actually start to understand how these substances concretely affect physiology, it's going to usher in a whole new generation of drug testing for mainstream athletes who claim not to be taking these substances.
I think the job of Enhanced is to make sure that the messaging is sensible and responsible as opposed to just like, hey, these substances are great, everyone go out and take them. No, that's not the messaging. But the opportunity to learn how to use these substances safely and effectively, I think, is a good opportunity and will have positive implications for medicine.
