What would you do if you were in that seat today?
So let's go there.
You had a year of sabbatical.
You got to think from first principles what you wanted to go into.
I'm sure you had many opportunities.
You chose to start your own firm.
Why did you do that?
And tell me a little bit about Square Nine Capital.
So for your sabbatical, you did a bunch of work.
And now that you're a GP and you're an allocator in several seats, what do you think the biggest disconnect is between allocators and GPs?
You know, they say the best way to build empathy is to be in that spot.
It's the only way, arguably.
Founding Square Nine Capital, you had to go from zero to one.
How did you go from zero to one as a GP?
Something I've actually changed my mind on recently, which is that joy is not only a luxury, it's a luxury to enjoy what you're doing and enjoy who you're working with.
It's also extremely anti-fragile.
Just listen, there's an interview, Jojkovic was asked, this was almost a decade ago,
how are you not going to burn out?
How are you going to go to distance?
And he's like, I like hitting the ball.
