Well, Paul, you do your best to read this contract, but it's been cobbled together with evil intent.
You can tell that at a minimum, it's trying to hide important details from you.
It also uses a lot of technical language and jumps around a lot.
One frustrating thing it does is create new definitions for words, and then going forward, the contract will use those new definitions instead of the familiar ones.
Your main takeaway fairly fast is that this is bad news.
It has the same vibe as a terms of service that declares you no longer have any constitutional rights, and it'll be up to you to do something about that if you sign it.
In that case, Paul, give me an ego roll for the willpower to trudge through this while ignoring Lowry nattering over your shoulders.
You buckle down, and trying to sort through this makes you feel like the sands of time are pouring right out of your eyeballs and into the pages.
Eventually, though, you can sort that part of what this contract is suggesting you'll accede to is interaction with psionic powers.
The paperwork very, very deeply tries to obfuscate exactly what those powers will do, but there's only a few things psychic powers can do.
Mind reading, mind control, and sometimes, what's proven to be quite unreliably historically, future telling.
How about another ego roll?
It's all starting to get away from you.
But you find snippets indicating that you would be undergoing continuous exposure to psionic ability.
The psionic ability is referred to as an opportunity with a capital O, which then forces you to go back and try to find places where they explain what an opportunity is.
It describes behavioral adjustments in some places.
Eventually, you can perhaps piece together what's being suggested.
You'll be agreeing to let your mental state be altered by a psychic, at a minimum.
Assuming that you are working with a psychic, this might be a reasonable thing to expect if Lowry were only concerned about liability.
