But I'm like, it's a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Like, what are we doing?
The fact that you're asking me this question says more about you than me.
But I start the month before Michael Brown is murdered.
And when I was in law school, I did a lot of I took a path of public interest law and police reform.
And so like studying the way D.A.
offices decided to prosecute cases study.
So I had some experience in it.
And just so happened that this is now what we're going to start focusing on in the final three years of the administration.
And like to me, you know, when they were trying to figure out, well, what do we do in Ferguson when there's tanks on the streets?
I was like, well, why don't we talk to the people that are like in the streets?
Why don't we talk to the protesters, the advocates?
We can also talk to the police officers like we can hear all sides of the story, but like we can't just say, let's do police reform and only talk to police.
You actually have to talk to people who have been unjustly impacted by police.
You also have to talk to people who might live in a high-crime area and understand what they might want from police.
And when we then started working on criminal justice reform, it's like, how are you going to talk about prison reform without talking to someone who has actually been incarcerated?
It's like you wouldn't.
