I think the Business Post, Daniel Murray, had a big piece saying that Jack Chambers, rearguard action on potential β¬3 billion overspend.
Well, I'm going to have to rein you in for a little moment because we're going to go and take a very quick abric.
You're all very welcome back with me on the panel are Dan Mulhall, former Irish ambassador, Gillian Sherratt, disability advocate, Ashley Maloney, political reporter with the Irish Independent and Gerard Howland, Irish Times columnist and public affairs consultant.
Well, our listeners are pushing me on saying, Durbel, can you discuss the inaction of the government on the Occupied Territories Bill?
Many people voted Fianna FΓ‘il and Fianna Gael on the basis that they'd passed the bill.
The Irish public are frustrated by the inaction to date.
Thank you very much, CiarΓ‘n, for that message.
You were originally, correct me if I'm wrong, were you originally against the bill?
And, Dan, isn't this kind of the issue, because a lot of the Republicans have raised issues about this in respect of Ireland, and a lot of those imports that are coming in are actually going to their parts, kind of imports that are serving the multinational companies here.
Gillian, hundreds of people, I know you spotted one or two people, hundreds of people turned out in support of those who were returning from the flotilla.
It's interesting, some of our listeners are saying outrage needs to be backed by a backbone, others are saying no, this bill could be a massive act of self-harm to the country economically.
Where do you think the public support for the bill lies?
So unfortunately, we're going to have to pick that up again.
My thanks today to Dan Mulhall, former Irish ambassador to Spain.
Gillian Sherratt, disability advocate.
Ashley Maloney, political reporter with the Irish Independent.
Gerard Howland, Irish Times columnist and public affairs consultant.
