And I said, I live in Box Hill.
And so he carted me out to Box Hill Hospital and they didn't know that a bomb had even gone off.
I mean, we had no mobile phones or anything like that in those days.
And so I was basically put in a wheelchair and told to go home to bed.
You've got a back injury.
Yeah, absolutely.
They were waiting for me.
Mum, it was funny.
My mum thought I was the most innocent little girl, her little innocent princess, even though I was now a policewoman.
You spent some time as a streetwalker at sea.
Yeah, exactly.
And she had no clue that I'd smoked in those days.
And the first thing I did when I walked up onto the front porch and mum and dad were sitting there was like, I need a smoke.
And it was the first time in mum's life she handed a cigarette over to me and went, okay.
And we sat there and we had a cigarette together.
So they just wanted to kill as many cops as they could.
They had an absolute hatred for police and, in fact, once they left the car on the south door, they went up to Ligon Street, Carlton, anyone familiar with Melbourne will know that's not so far away from Russell Street, and they watched the bomb blow up.
