Just ahead, we have got some warning signs that might save your life or somebody that you know.
In the U.S., an average of 20 people are physically abused by intimate partners every minute.
And that's a sobering statistic if you think about it from the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
It equates to more than 10 million abuse victims annually.
We're going to talk about what's available out there to help victims and to try to keep them safe.
As you just heard, this story centered on a story that is sadly not too uncommon here in the U.S.
We told the story of Holly James, who was a loving army nurse, a mom of two children, who was killed at the hands of her own husband.
And it turns out that domestic violence is really an epidemic and impacts millions of people every year.
So we thought it would be interesting to talk a little bit about that part of this story in more detail.
And joining me now is emergency psychiatrist, Dr. Adjua Smalls-Monte.
