You're arguing after the fact.
Let me just say this.
Now you just made me lose my train of thought.
This is the whole point, okay?
If believing in God is important, and I'm a loving God, I'm an all-knowing God, I'm an all-powerful God, I want you to believe in me.
Why?
Why would I put my son on earth and all of these things?
Well, why?
We'll see.
We'll see.
Now I'm arguing against something that you don't seem to believe in.
And that's why I said to define being a Christian.
So let me just finish my point and then you can get to it.
My whole point is that the reason why I think religion is just the invention of man is because if there was this loving God and he did want us to believe in him,
and that ultimately religious documents and whatever else was the mechanism through which we had a relationship with him.
If I am a loving God, I am going to make that mechanism as effective as possible.
I want you to believe in me.
I want you to have a relationship with me.
So if this is the mechanism, if I am truly loving, I'm going to make that mechanism effective.
And if you look at religions, it's ultimately ineffective.
