So again, there's ways and means of doing this, but it's not as hard as if it's a domestic, if you're renting yourself and it's a house, it's you arranging the electrician and you are buying the charger.
Whereas if it's an apartment block, there's a bit more to it than that.
But if they're a professional outfit, they should be taking this into consideration now.
It's a USP for when you're trying to rent in the future to say there's EV charging available, more people will be interested in the property.
Yeah, absolutely.
Because there's a grant available and you have to go to the process of getting the grant, number one.
Getting electricians, they're not hanging around because they're not doing anything else.
They're busy people as well.
You have to pick your charger, understand what type of charger you're going to go for, and then arrange to have it installed.
So all of that takes time, whereas you go in, you put your order in the car and they'll say the car will be ready for you on the 1st of July for a 262 plate.
or you're buying a pre-owned one it's ready to go there and then but you don't have that charger having the charger in place and because the grant is available there you can put a charger and you might not be buying the car until the beginning of next year but the charger at least be done dusted up on the wall ready to go for when you do buy that ev so she's right save yourself the stress amount of people that ring me in a panic saying my new car is coming next monday i need to get a charger done in the next couple of days
As I mentioned, electricians are busy people and getting them to do something short notice, if it's not an emergency, is something that unfortunately might not be able to happen.
So, yeah, definitely pick your charger, understand the differences in the chargers.
And I think we've talked about in the past, but I'm happy to go over them again.
Jess, just so when people are listening now going, you know what, I'm going electric.
What are the different types of chargers?
This is going to be the best time with Jess for all the times we've talked, I'm joking.
and so the two main types of chargers are what we call tethered and untethered and one of that means is untethered means there's just no cable attached to it it's just a socket on the wall the other one that is tethered and that means that the cable is constantly attached to the charger so you don't have to take it out of the boot yourself you don't have to plug in your own one when it is a tethered charger you're looking at well do i want a five meter do i want an 8.5 meter where am i positioning it and where is the socket on my car so that when i pull in and park
Is it near to where I actually need to put it?
