Arthur Burke suffered an attack of amnesia and woke up beside the dead body of George Digby.

Believing he may have killed Digby, he comes to Boston Blackie for help and is there when a call comes in from Janet Carey offering to name Digby's murderer.

Before going to see her, Blackie is forced to visit Tom Roach, gambling house operator who wanted Digby out of the way and whom Faraday suspects but who denies his guilt.

and offers Blackie $10,000 to find the guilty partner.

Blackie and Faraday go to Janet Carey's hotel room and arrive in time to hear a terrific struggle going on inside.
