Like the Canucks were a throttled five on five.
I mean, it was ugly, very, very ugly for the Vancouver Canucks last season.
As everyone knows the
thing though is is there were some players who fared better than others in terms of you know how they held up and one of those players is atu ratu like atu ratu sort of uniquely was like a 45 percent goals for guy which is roughly the same as quinn hughes was and
I find this fascinating in part because he continued to never play.
Now I get it.
The team felt that there were defensive gaps in his game.
I think you could see that when you watched him play and partly his outcomes, his quality outcomes were driven by how protected his minutes were, except for when he was winning draws, right?
Like except for when he was quick changing off of draws.
But if you're so bad defensively, like why are you getting outscored by a lower margin than everybody else, right?
I mean, this was a guy who we should have seen play top nine minutes for 30 games just for the sake of data gathering.
And I remain pretty in on him being, you know, maybe a third line NHL center.
At the very least, I think the Canucks should design top nine center deployment for him for like 40 games, right?
Start Braden Kutz in the American League.
And basically give Ratu 40 games at center.
And if he can't hack it in a top nine role, then it's like, you know, you know, you found out you're not winning anyway.
So who cares?
And then shift him to the wing so that you can find out if he can hack it as a wing in the latter half of the season.
Right.
And put Kutz as his center for the second half of the year.
