Yeah, I went there just to clean things up.
I had to give her the parts and then just change the arrangement.
Because they needed the actual, back then, getting files was hard.
I was like, I had to go dig up all, it was like three years ago and I had to figure out what I was doing.
I sent it to her and they were like, there's some things we need to do.
So we went to the studio just to arrange it a little bit better for her and add some parts.
But that record became really big.
And I think it put a lot of people onto Major Lazer, too, that didn't know who we were or what we did.
And also showed people a record like Pond The Floor could come out and reach a certain audience.
It was underground.
It was a club thing.
But then it told people that, okay, Diplo kind of does these records that...
always makes sense later.
You know, kind of like with Beyonce's sample, it was like, okay, that could be for a bigger audience, a sound that's that unique.
So I think it kind of helped me put a little more confidence in what I was doing.
Because I was like, okay, my shit, like, Lean On's the first record that really, like, got big, and I was like, okay, Major Lazer, we were doing this weird shit, but if we just add a little more, like, pop to it, it could be massive because no one's doing a unique sound like that where they're mixing, like,
dance hall and like Mo's voice is crazy because she comes from jazz.
Like that's why she sings that way.
She was a jazz singer, but then she went into a punk band and that was what new was like this punk with a jazz singer.
And I was like, her voice was just like in one of the best voices I've ever heard in my life.
