The Senate Democrats have blocked the GOP's plan for the 10th time, ensuring the shutdown lasts into next week.

So this is the 10th time now that Republicans have attempted to reopen the government, but Senate Democrats have blocked it.

That's because after one final vote series later that happened today, lawmakers will leave Washington, D.C.

for another long weekend just after three short days on the Hill.

Neither Republicans nor Democrats are ready to flinch in their deeply entrenched positions and talk between both sides.
